In the mid 2022 holidays, my family and I went on vacation to malaysia and singapore, it was my first trip abroad. we left not by plane, but by ship. departing from home using a private car to Dumai, then boarding a ship at the port of dumai to malaysia precisely in the city of muar. upon arrival in muar, we immediately looked for public transportation and immediately left for the city of melaka.
Melaka is Malaysia's oldest city founded in the 14th century by Parameswara, thrived as an important trading port connecting Asia and the Middle East. The city is unique for its cultural fusion of Portuguese, Dutch and British colonial influences that left their mark in architecture such as A Famosa and St. Paul's Hill. In addition, the Peranakan culture born from the assimilation of Chinese traders with the local population also enriches Melaka's identity, especially in culinary delights such as Nyonya Laksa and Cendol. In 2008, Melaka was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its rich history and cultural diversity.
the next trip, we decided to go to the capital of malaysia, kuala lumpur. there we visited the petronas tower, shopped at the quiner market, and the next day we headed to the budhha statue site in selangor, located not far from kuala lumpur.
After 2 days of sightseeing in kuala lumpur, we headed to the neighboring country of Singapore, and for the first time I saw the iconic statue of the country that can spout water from its mouth, I was very moved because what I used to see from the internet I could see for real.
